Installing working wood-burning fireplaces and chimneys in New York City requires special permission from the Department of Buildings and the highly protective Landmarks Preservation Commission. The permitting process and other factors make renovating in SoHo an endeavor, requiring meticulous planning, coordination, and compliance with numerous regulations and restrictions.
Our work here included all new finishes, floors, doors, hardware, tiling, plumbing, electrical, and lighting throughout. The large, gracious bedrooms are illuminated by the floor-to-ceiling glass windows of an internal atrium looking out on a fully landscaped green wall. The spectacular en-suite bathrooms are entirely marble-clad with luxury fixtures, resplendent with double vanity sinks, deep soaking tubs, and a clear glass-enclosed steam and rain shower room.
Millwork included custom walk-in closets, built-ins, and moldings. The grand entry is ideal as a pre-emptive art gallery, a massive living room, and, of course, a spectacular new kitchen with a state-of-the-art ventilation system, Bulthaup cabinetry, expertly equipped with all the trimmings, and top brands such as SubZero, Gaggenau, Miele, and a five burner Wolf Range.
