“Park Slope” is named for the gentle incline of the streets that move up from Brooklyn’s Gowanus Canal to the famous and glorious Prospect Park. Our work here fully renovating this beautiful 2,200 square foot apartment in this lovely, historic brick townhouse was another success story.

The Challenge

Our biggest challenge here was remodeling everything while preserving historic molding which requires a combination of careful assessment, skilled craftsmanship, and appropriate materials. By addressing the challenges methodically and respecting the original work, it is possible to maintain the historic integrity of these features for future generations.

The Outcome

Some of the many wonderful features of this full gut renovation were complete kitchen and bathroom remodels. In order to supply the new cutting-edge fixtures and appliances we needed to bring more power up from the main panel in the basement and completely rework the apartment’s plumbing and heating including relocating the gas, water, and drain lines. We created a fabulous brick arch and perfectly built it with preciously sourced matching brick. We installed beautiful new custom cabinets and feature lighting in the kitchen and all new windows, solid wood doors and classic moldings throughout. Skim coat plastering and a clean paint job made it look as if we were never there!
